Cop who left his dog partner to die in a hot car for 38 HOURS now faces five years in prison for felony animal cruelty

A cop in Oklahoma has been charged with animal cruelty after leaving his police dog in his scorching squad car for 38 hours.

Matthew Peck, a sheriff’s deputy in Stephens County, had been partners with German shepherd Bak for four years.

But on August 24, after being called to the scene of a traffic stop, Peck allegedly left the eight-year-old dog in his vehicle before going home.

Peck found Bak dead on August 26, some 38 hours later.
