Police: ‘Sheer brutality’ as 3 officers slain in Baton Rouge ambush

The chaotic shootout between Baton Rouge officers and a lone gunman ranged around a series of commercial buildings before a SWAT officer killed the suspect with a 100-yard shot, police said Monday.
The gunman, Gavin Eugene Long, 29, of Kansas City, Mo., had an IWA Tavor SAR 5.56-caliber rifle and Springfield 9.9mm pistol with him during the shootout Sunday morning, according to Col. Michael Edmonson, superintendent of state police. Another Stag Arms M4 Variant 5.56-caliber semi-automatic rifle was at his rented Chevrolet Malibu car, Edmonson said.
The guns are being analyzed for the chain of ownership, he said.
By watching videos from the area around a car wash and convenience store where the shooting occurred, police said Long ignored civilians and shot only at police, Edmonson said.

Man Calls Out Black Lives Matter For Not Helping La. Flood Victims

Jerry L. Washington, a Baton Rouge native, posted a video to Facebook, asking why activists haven’t done anything to help the majority African-American city.
“Where are the Black Lives Matter and the Black Panthers?” Washington says in the video. “Because I ain’t seen one Black Panther boat or one Black Lives Matter boat. All I see is our own people from our own city saving us.”

In his lengthy digital essay  former Baltimore police officer Jay Stalien challenged assertions that black people are unfairly penalised by law enforcement. It was his arguments about black-on-black violence that seemed to get the most attention. Drawing on his own experience, Stalien said he chose a career in law enforcement because:
“I watched and lived through the crime that took place in the hood. My own black people killing others over nothing. Crack heads and heroin addicts lined the lobby of my building as I shuffled around them to make my way to our 1 bedroom apartment with 6 of us living inside. I wanted to help my community and stop watching the blood of African Americans spilled on the street at the hands of a fellow black man.”

 

Far More Whites Killed by U.S. Police

According to statistics maintained by the far-left extremist Guardian newspaper in Britain, more than half of all people killed by US police this year [2015] have been white, while only 25 percent have been black.
The Guardian’s statistics are contained in a tally of police killings maintained by that newspaper on a site titled “The Counted.” This was set up by the far-leftist newspaper with the intention of “proving” how “racist” the police in America are—an aim which has now completely backfired in face of the facts.
According to the Guardian’s tally, of the approximately 1001 people killed by police this year in America, 502 were white, 250 were black, 163 were Hispanic/Latino, 18 were Asian/Pacific Islander, 13 were American Indian, and 54 were other/unknown.

This week, the rehabilitation of the most extreme of the New Left groups — the Weather Underground — entered a new stage.

Yesterday, the New York Post revealed that convicted felon Kathy Boudin — who was released from jail a decade ago after serving 22 years for her role as getaway driver in a deadly 1981 Brinks truck robbery — was given the position of adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of Social Work.

At the same time, Boudin was also(!) given a position held concurrently at New York University, where she was appointed Sheinberg Scholar-in-Residence. She recently gave a lecture for that program on “the politics of parole and re-entry,” something which she obviously knows about.

There are, of course, many other candidates who could have been given both positions, and none of them were part of a leftist terrorist group whose action resulted in the death of the first African-American police officer in that area, and two other police officers. Two of the three had families; children grew up without their fathers.

Nine children.

When she was pulled over, Boudin shouted to the officers whose guns were drawn: “Put the gun back.” They put their revolvers in their holsters.

At that point — as the officers went to inspect the back of the van she was driving — her cohorts came out with weapons blazing, killing the two policemen and one other who had joined in pursuit.

Boudin was never repentant.
