Banana Peels and …. Racism?

A Greek Life retreat at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) was promptly cancelled this weekend after a banana peel was found hanging in a tree.

“To be clear, many members of our community were hurt, frightened, and upset by what occurred at IMPACT,” Interim Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Alexa Lee Arndt remarked in an email between Greek leaders, according to The Daily Mississippian. “Because of the underlying reality many students of color endure on a daily basis, the conversation manifested into a larger conversation about race relations today at the University of Mississippi.”

After word of the banana spread throughout the retreat, leaders decided to end the event early. Arndt explained that she “felt it was imperative to provide space immediately to students affected by this incident.”

According to The DM, some students left the retreat in tears, with McNeil noting that they “didn’t feel welcome” and “didn’t feel safe.”

Pranksters Clog UF Hotline to Protest Costume Guidelines

Campus Reform

A hotline for University of Florida students to report culturally insensitive Halloween costumes has backfired after a Fox Sports commentator instigated a series of prank calls to the number.

UF sent a newsletter to students on October 10 encouraging them to avoid Halloween costumes that could “perpetuate negative stereotypes” or cause “harm and offense” to other students, and urging anyone offended by such costumes to call a 24/7 counseling and wellness hotline.

The hotline quickly turned into a running joke, however, after Fox Sports commentator Clay Travis prank called the line during one of his live shows, pretending to be a gay student offended by a Harambe costume.

“I went to a fraternity party last night and there was somebody dressed as Harambe, the gorilla, and I found it to be really racially insensitive,” Travis said on the call. “It’s really disappointing that the University of Florida is not taking my microaggressions seriously because, I mean, I’m really upset about this costume that I saw.”

Who started this crap?

‘Ze, zem and zyr’ — today’s language insanity
By Linda Harvey | 4 October 2016

funny-demotivation-p-126

“Ze walks with me and ze talks with me, and ze tells me I am zyr own …”

Welcome to favorite hymns as they might be revised by Princeton, the University of Michigan and the diabolical American left.

Who knew the power of pronouns? At first glance, they seem innocuous.

But when oppression begins to supplant authentic justice, one of the first symptoms is the breakdown of ordinary language. George Orwell warned us; now America stinks from the rotten rhetorical fruit of decaying, toxic values.

It’s heartbreaking to say, but the smell of death surrounds us.

From “negative rhetoric about Islam,” and accusations of “hate speech” against homosexuality, revealing reality is the current great offense. New meanings for old terms have become the weapons to deliver fake justice and the rallying cries to rationalize sexual license, lawlessness, theft, revenge – you name it.

Feminists advocate the “reproductive rights” of other women to kill their children. “Sexual orientation” is the civilized policy term for men who prefer anal sex with other men, or women whose idea of a grand sexual experience involves plastic penises with other women instead of real male organs with real males.

And if you object, you are the problem. Increasingly your fair-minded, virtue-seeking, justice-exalting Christian life is probably expendable. Does the future include Planned Parenthood-type clinics for conservative believers? Will we be escorted to enter such “clinics” and never exit?

Is there a polite term for “Auschwitz”?

Oh, surely you are exaggerating, some will protest. After all, many recent examples seem on the surface to be just more left-wing silliness.

UW students sell anti-police, anti-white hoodies

Campus Reform

Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are asking people to buy sweatshirts promoting violence against police officers and classifying all white people as racists.

“Racism,” claims one hoodie’s page, “is a set of systematic, institutional, cultural, and epistemological (although not limited to said forms) structures [sic] that inherently empowers white folk and in turn disempowers people of color. This power dictates who lives, have housing, access to education/healthcare etc. Racism has little to do with hatred and mostly to do with who has power.”

“Attention! Black men: if you’re talking about dismantling a system, you better include patriarchy,” reads one hoodie. “You can’t be a revolutionary and homophobic,” reads another.

Swarthmore student flees campus after bullying prompts safety concerns

Reaction to a Swarthmore College student’s recent op-ed in the campus newspaper about the preppy liberal arts school’s need-blind admissions program has been so vicious and severe — cyberbullying, a message telling her she should have her tongue removed, a note saying “kill yourself bitch” — that the column’s author has left campus.

Erin Jenson told The College Fix her Sept. 12 column in the campus newspaper, “The Admissions Office Doesn’t Care About Your Values,” argued that the same colleges encouraging students to challenge anything perceived as privilege do in fact check the privilege of their applicants through complex formulas that ensure a certain percentage of students admitted will be paying full tuition.

A New Jersey native, Jenson also bluntly criticized peers in the op-ed, saying “hyper-liberal classmates … resent the upper class at its core” when they ought to say “thank you so, so much for being forced to pay for my opportunity.”

For that, Jenson said she has received four physical threats and been cyberbullied almost 100 times on social media. She told The Fix some of the more extreme comments came from one person who told her she should have her tongue removed, and another, a written note she found in her bag at the gym the day after the op-ed came out, which stated: “kill yourself bitch.”

At UC Berkeley earlier this month, student protestors bum rushed the College Republicans tabling event, ripping up their life-size Donald Trump cut out.

At Columbia University, one student told The Fix this month he fears he will be “physically assaulted” if he wears conservative clothing or voices conservative opinions on campus.

offended-youre-a-pussyNC State: Calling America ‘A Land Of Opportunity’ Is A Microaggression
A “microaggression tool” published by North Carolina State University’s faculty ombuds informs the school’s employees that phrases such as “America is a land of opportunity” or “I believe the most qualified person should get the job,” are “microaggressions” and shouldn’t be used.

going-to-stay-this-color-the-jerkThe Very Existence Of White People Is A Microaggression
Black people can’t be racist against white people, because duh. White people are inherently racist against black people, for reasons that go without saying.
We all know these things to be true. Look into your heart (if you’re not a conservative and actually have one) and you can’t deny your intrinsic guilt or innocence, depending on what you see in the mirror. But it took our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in academia to prove it’s true, using capital-S Science.

EXCLUSIVE: University Officials Sign Off On Literal Emotional First Aid Kit
An adviser and an assistant professor at the University of Houston showed support for providing students with an emotional first aid kit that would contain a baby blanket and candy among other things.
“The stress of school gets to them. Like a bad grade, a missed class, being late, a microaggression, uhh whatever,” Schindler said to O’Keefe about the emotional distress University of Houston students face.

Colleges turn to coloring books to de-stress students
In the age of safe spaces and trigger warnings comes another new trend to the college repertoire: coloring books. This fall, campuses nationwide are offering coloring books to students to help them de-stress.
At American University on Monday, its counseling center provided coloring sheets in honor of Healthy Campus Week, noting on its Facebook page that adult coloring books “can help with a number of emotional and mental health issues.” Conditions cited include obsessive-compulsive, eating, anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as anger management and substance abuse issues.

Mizzou Campus Activists and Black Lives Matter Complain About Paris Stealing the Spotlight
Black Lives Matter and Mizzou protesters responded to the murder of scores of people in Paris at the hands of Islamic extremists by complaining about losing the spotlight and saying their “struggles” were being “erased.” Their struggles, remember, consist of a poop swastika of unknown provenance and unsubstantiated claims of racially-charged remarks somewhere near Missouri’s campus.
So debased has the language on American campuses become that these incidents, which many observers believe to be hoaxes, just like previous campus scandals celebrated by progressive media, are being referred to as “terrorism” and a “tragedy” by moronic 20-year-olds who have never been told, “No.”
