Finally! Justice Dept. Sides With Colorado Baker Sued by Gay Couple

By Kacie Burnett | 7 Sep 2017

Gays have a burning obsession with baked goods. Their cake fetish has led to many tales of bakers targeted by LGBTers who demand a cake to celebrate their gayness (see Gaystapo Logic: You Will Bake Our Cakes… Or We’ll Call You “Gay”!). You may recall this man-loving couple who got their tighty whities in a twist over a baker who refused to make them a wedding cake. He was ordered to “bake gay wedding cakes or none at all.” Since then, it’s been a flurry of legal nonsense. Apparently the case is going to the Supreme Court now. All because of the fateful pastry that never was.

Well, one good thing did happen. Courtesy of the Justice Dept.:

In a major upcoming Supreme Court case that weights equal rights with religious liberty, the Trump administration on Thursday sided with a Colorado baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Muslims Showing Tolerance and Compassion While Tirelessly Contributing to World Peace Pt.55

Why do Gays ignore hostility from Muslims?

3 May 2010
The growth of Islam in Europe has consequences for gay men. But you wouldn’t know it from a cursory perusal of the issues which preoccupy at any one time what is known as the “gay community”. Civil partnerships, gay adoption or problems with Christian bed-and-breakfast owners and the allegedly latent homophobia of the Conservatives are all up there on the list. But, with a few honorable exceptions, such as the consistently principled activist Peter Tatchell, few voices are raised about the possible future problems for gay men in a rapidly changing demographic landscape.

God ‘eroded, eclipsed, liquidated’ in U.S., says cardinal

Warns of ‘demonic’ threat to society

cardinal_robert_sarah

Perhaps it takes someone on the outside looking in to accurately diagnose the spiritual state of America.

That’s what Cardinal Robert Sarah, a native of the West African nation of Guinea, did Tuesday at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., reported Catholic News Agency.

“God is being eroded, eclipsed, liquidated … “in the name of ‘tolerance’” in the U.S., he said, citing “legalization of same-sex marriage, the obligation to accept contraception within health-care programs, and even ‘bathroom bills’ that allow men to use the women’s restrooms and locker rooms.”

“Should not a biological man use the men’s restroom?” he asked. “How simpler can that concept be?”

The cardinal shifted his focus from the social and political realm to the church itself, warning against subversion of its orthodoxy and “demonic ‘gender ideology’” that threatens to wound the family unit itself.

The Totalitarian Doctrine of ‘Social Justice Warriors’

From Observer

Much of SJW’s passion goes into speech and culture policing directed at victimless crimes that violate their moral taboos

The modern social justice movement, or the new “political correctness,” vaulted into the spotlight last year.  Student protests swept across campuses with demands often focused on purging thoughtcrime—leading to heated debates on whether this movement is a dangerous pseudo-progressive authoritarianism or a long-overdue effort to achieve justice for all. A year-in-review piece in The Daily Dot in late December proclaimed 2015 “the year of the social justice warrior.”

The Daily Dot author, graduate student and political columnist Michael Rosa, hailed this trend and urged liberals to “embrace the term.” Yet the accomplishments he invoked are, as the social justice crowd likes to say, problematic. His Exhibit A, the legalization of same-sex marriage, actually had very little to do with the current social justice movement; it was the result of two decades of very different, pragmatic activism that focused on a clear goal—the legal right to marry—and stressed equality, not gay identity. And #BlackLivesMatter, also a movement with a specific focus—police violence toward African-Americans—has been arguably hurt, not helped, by PC dogma that suppresses discussion of thorny issues such as black-on-black crime and attacks “insensitive” dissenting speech (Amherst protesters demanded disciplinary action against students who had put up “All Lives Matter” posters).

‘Dramatic Intervention’: Christian Bakers Who Are in Court After Refusing to Make ‘Support Gay Marriage’ Get a Major Boost

From The Blaze

Christian bakers in Northern Ireland who are fighting back against a court ruling that found them guilty of discrimination for refusing to make a cake that read “support gay marriage” are now being publicly backed by the European country’s attorney general.

Attorney General John Larkin openly defended the owners of Ashers Baking Company, a business based in Northern Ireland, during court proceedings this week, speaking out in their favor as the family works to appeal a previous decision that forced them to pay $765 in damages for “injury to feelings” to the gay activist who had requested the cake in question.

Larkin’s involvement in the case has been dubbed a “dramatic intervention” by the Christian Institute, a U.K. legal group that is representing Colin and Karen McArthur, owners of Ashers Baking Company. The attorney general detailed his rationale in court this week.

“There are very large questions about the role of conscience in all sorts of business,” Larkin told the panel of three judges who are overseeing the appeal, according to the Belfast Telegraph. ”I say very clearly, if it was a case where [the man requesting the cake] had been refused some of Ashers’ excellent chocolate eclairs because he [was] gay or perceived to be gay, I would be standing on the other side of the court.”

Bakery owners punished with $135,000 fine for refusing to violate Christian faith

Sweet-Cakes

An Oregon state official and his agency violated the U.S. Constitution in multiple ways when they assessed a $135,000 penalty against Sweetcakes by Melissa bakery owners Aaron and Melissa Klein for refusing to violate their Christian faith by creating a wedding cake for a lesbian duo, according to a new appeal filed in the long-running case.

“In America, you’re protected by the Constitution, and you’re also innocent until proven guilty,” said Kelly Shackelford, president of First Liberty Institute, which is working on the Kleins’ case.

Where ‘gays’ are heroes, pedophiles victims, Christians crazy

Experts say morality’s continued ‘evolution’ has no limits

Traditional morality regarding sex isn’t just collapsing, it’s being inverted.

Homosexuals, whose behavior once was illegal and reviled, are heroes. Pedophiles, considered among the lowest of the low for millennia, are being characterized as victims.

And if you think there’s something wrong about all of this, you might have a mental disorder.

It’s a perspective that Paul Kengor, a university professor, historian and author of “Takedown: From Communists to Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage,” argues is being pursued aggressively by Democrats.

“Once upon a time, you would have never seen a piece like this in a mainstream leftist publication like Salon. For that matter, you would have never seen a piece arguing that same-sex marriage should not only be legalized but that those against redefining marriage are mere bigoted hatemongers, or that a florist or baker or photographer who begs not to service a same-sex wedding ceremony because of religious objections should be fined, shut down or even thrown in jail. You couldn’t find a Democrat anywhere in Washington who believed such insanity.

“Now, it’s a statement of faith for Democrats today.”

Same-sex marriage ignites ‘religious persecution’ debate in Australia

A debate waged on Australian television over the fate and repercussions of “gay” marriage in the country took a fiery turn after one of the panelists, Spiked Online editor Brendan O’Neill, pointed to the intolerance of same-sex union advocates toward traditional marriage supporters, and said the scenes coming from America show religious persecution has become an acceptable part of the platform.

What was even more noteworthy: O’Neill described himself as a liberal.

Homophobic Barbarians: 10 Reasons Every Gay American Needs to Support the War Against Islamofascism

For all the screaming about intolerance and bigotry against gays here in America — driven by many people’s objection to changing the definition of the centuries-old institution of marriage — many so-called liberals don’t seem to notice the actual intolerance and murder being meted out on gays in Muslim countries. Homosexuals living in Muslim countries suffer dire consequences for coming out including whipping, banishment, humiliation and even death by stoning, hanging or familial stabbing in accordance with Islamic law. Homosexuals in the Muslim culture are encouraged to commit suicide rather than bring shame on their families.
