Disturbing videos have emerged of protesters brutally attacking white bystanders in Charlotte as violent demonstrations continued to engulf the city, 48 hours after a black man was shot dead by police.
A man was dragged and beaten by a mob while begging for mercy, an unconscious photographer was almost tossed into a fire, and a CNN correspondent was slammed to the ground in the midst of the chaos.
It was the second night of unrest following the deadly shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, 43, by African-American cop, Brentley Vinson, 26, at an apartment complex on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said 44 people were arrested for a variety of crimes such as assault, breaking and entering, and failure to disperse. At least 14 people, including five cops, were taken to hospital.
North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency and has called in the National Guard after clashes on Wednesday night.
Major companies with offices in the downtown area – including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Duke Energy – told employees not to come into work on Thursday.
Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts had considered putting a curfew in place in a bid to control the disorder, which is set to continue, but police have said they don’t think the restrictions are needed.
Roberts added that Scott’s family will be shown the video of the police shooting on Thursday, but it will not be released publicly.
Many businesses and buildings, including the NASCAR Hall of Fame, were hit by vandals and looters.

The Numbers Are In: Black Lives Matter Is Wrong about Police
Ever since the explosion of the Black Lives Matter movement, Americans have been bombarded with assertions that black men face a unique and dangerous threat — not from members of their own community but from the very law enforcement officers who are sworn to “serve and protect” them. Hashtags such as #DrivingWhileBlack and #WalkingWhileBlack have perpetuated a narrative that black Americans risk being gunned down by police simply because of the color of their skin. Using individual anecdotes of police misconduct and the now-discredited “hands up, don’t shoot” rallying cry, Black Lives Matter has built a case that American police are out of control.

Black Leaders Still Asking for the Right to Vote?

From American Thinker
August 27, 2013  |   M. Catharine Evans

In case you missed it, there was a march in Washington on Saturday.  Tens of thousands showed up to commemorate the 1963 civil rights demonstration.  The one which featured Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

As expected, many participants wore Trayvon Martin T-shirts with signs that read “No justice, No peace.”  Other signs called for voting rights, income equality, and a livable wage (as opposed to a minimum wage).

Various speakers included Eric Holder and Congressman John Lewis, who has paraded himself for half a century as the representative of all black people.  Newark mayor Cory Booker made it clear that after 50 years of subprime loans, affirmative action, government handouts, black chiefs of police, black mayors, discriminatory hiring practices, equal housing protection, a black president and attorney general, and an affirmative-action healthcare law, some “African-Americans” are still not happy.
