EXCLUSIVE: University Officials Sign Off On Literal Emotional First Aid Kit
An adviser and an assistant professor at the University of Houston showed support for providing students with an emotional first aid kit that would contain a baby blanket and candy among other things.
“The stress of school gets to them. Like a bad grade, a missed class, being late, a microaggression, uhh whatever,” Schindler said to O’Keefe about the emotional distress University of Houston students face.

Colleges turn to coloring books to de-stress students
In the age of safe spaces and trigger warnings comes another new trend to the college repertoire: coloring books. This fall, campuses nationwide are offering coloring books to students to help them de-stress.
At American University on Monday, its counseling center provided coloring sheets in honor of Healthy Campus Week, noting on its Facebook page that adult coloring books “can help with a number of emotional and mental health issues.” Conditions cited include obsessive-compulsive, eating, anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as anger management and substance abuse issues.

Mizzou Campus Activists and Black Lives Matter Complain About Paris Stealing the Spotlight
Black Lives Matter and Mizzou protesters responded to the murder of scores of people in Paris at the hands of Islamic extremists by complaining about losing the spotlight and saying their “struggles” were being “erased.” Their struggles, remember, consist of a poop swastika of unknown provenance and unsubstantiated claims of racially-charged remarks somewhere near Missouri’s campus.
So debased has the language on American campuses become that these incidents, which many observers believe to be hoaxes, just like previous campus scandals celebrated by progressive media, are being referred to as “terrorism” and a “tragedy” by moronic 20-year-olds who have never been told, “No.”

#BlackLivesMatter | Violence Against Police Officers

Police: ‘Sheer brutality’ as 3 officers slain in Baton Rouge ambush

The chaotic shootout between Baton Rouge officers and a lone gunman ranged around a series of commercial buildings before a SWAT officer killed the suspect with a 100-yard shot, police said Monday.
The gunman, Gavin Eugene Long, 29, of Kansas City, Mo., had an IWA Tavor SAR 5.56-caliber rifle and Springfield 9.9mm pistol with him during the shootout Sunday morning, according to Col. Michael Edmonson, superintendent of state police. Another Stag Arms M4 Variant 5.56-caliber semi-automatic rifle was at his rented Chevrolet Malibu car, Edmonson said.
The guns are being analyzed for the chain of ownership, he said.
By watching videos from the area around a car wash and convenience store where the shooting occurred, police said Long ignored civilians and shot only at police, Edmonson said.

Man Calls Out Black Lives Matter For Not Helping La. Flood Victims

Jerry L. Washington, a Baton Rouge native, posted a video to Facebook, asking why activists haven’t done anything to help the majority African-American city.
“Where are the Black Lives Matter and the Black Panthers?” Washington says in the video. “Because I ain’t seen one Black Panther boat or one Black Lives Matter boat. All I see is our own people from our own city saving us.”

The black cop who has a problem with ‘Black Lives Matter’

“Black Lives do not matter to most black people…Only the lives that are taken at the hands of cops or white people, matter.”
In his lengthy digital essay  former Baltimore police officer Jay Stalien challenged assertions that black people are unfairly penalised by law enforcement. It was his arguments about black-on-black violence that seemed to get the most attention. Drawing on his own experience, Stalien said he chose a career in law enforcement because:
“I watched and lived through the crime that took place in the hood. My own black people killing others over nothing. Crack heads and heroin addicts lined the lobby of my building as I shuffled around them to make my way to our 1 bedroom apartment with 6 of us living inside. I wanted to help my community and stop watching the blood of African Americans spilled on the street at the hands of a fellow black man.”

Far More Whites Killed by U.S. Police

the-counted

According to statistics maintained by the far-left extremist Guardian newspaper in Britain, more than half of all people killed by US police this year [2015] have been white, while only 25 percent have been black.
The Guardian’s statistics are contained in a tally of police killings maintained by that newspaper on a site titled “The Counted.” This was set up by the far-leftist newspaper with the intention of “proving” how “racist” the police in America are—an aim which has now completely backfired in face of the facts.
According to the Guardian’s tally, of the approximately 1001 people killed by police this year in America, 502 were white, 250 were black, 163 were Hispanic/Latino, 18 were Asian/Pacific Islander, 13 were American Indian, and 54 were other/unknown.

Smashing Pumpkins Singer Smashes Social Justice Warriors

From Truth Revolt
5.19.2016 | Sarah Fisher

“We live in a world where one word could destroy your life but it’s OK to, if you’re a social-justice warrior, spit in somebody’s face.”

Former lead singer Billy Corgan of the 90s grunge band Smashing Pumpkins ripped into the Social Justice Warrior movement in a recent interview.

The singer explained,

“When I watch some of the clips … of some of these protests, I have no respect for what these people are doing,…They’re shutting down free speech. … I just don’t get it. To me it’s antithetical to the society that I believe in. But I try to listen to their argument… The tactics in the social-justice warrior movement are to stifle and shut down free speech,” he said. “And I would argue in the world that I live in, which is the bareknuckle world, they’re leveraging their position because they don’t have power.”

Corgan astutely observed how the simple “wrong” use of a word, could ruin his career:

The Totalitarian Doctrine of ‘Social Justice Warriors’

From Observer
By Cathy Young • 02/02/16 10:00am

Much of SJW’s passion goes into speech and culture policing directed at victimless crimes that violate their moral taboos

The modern social justice movement, or the new “political correctness,” vaulted into the spotlight last year.  Student protests swept across campuses with demands often focused on purging thoughtcrime—leading to heated debates on whether this movement is a dangerous pseudo-progressive authoritarianism or a long-overdue effort to achieve justice for all. A year-in-review piece in The Daily Dot in late December proclaimed 2015 “the year of the social justice warrior.”

The Daily Dot author, graduate student and political columnist Michael Rosa, hailed this trend and urged liberals to “embrace the term.” Yet the accomplishments he invoked are, as the social justice crowd likes to say, problematic. His Exhibit A, the legalization of same-sex marriage, actually had very little to do with the current social justice movement; it was the result of two decades of very different, pragmatic activism that focused on a clear goal—the legal right to marry—and stressed equality, not gay identity. And #BlackLivesMatter, also a movement with a specific focus—police violence toward African-Americans—has been arguably hurt, not helped, by PC dogma that suppresses discussion of thorny issues such as black-on-black crime and attacks “insensitive” dissenting speech (Amherst protesters demanded disciplinary action against students who had put up “All Lives Matter” posters).

Ohio University students demand police investigation after peers mock safe-spaces

From Campus Reform
Anthony Gockowski | Apr 14, 2016

wall

The College Republicans (CR) at Ohio University (OU) wrote a message on their school’s “Graffiti Wall” that mocked the idea of safe spaces, causing some students to demand a police investigation into the matter.

“Trigger Warning: There are no safe spaces in real life. You can’t wall off the First Amendment,” CR members painted on the wall, later claiming responsibility for the messages.

In response, one student demanded a “mandatory investigation” and another vowed to “beat the shit” out of the CR members.

“We can start w/ a mandatory investigation because trigger warning is literally a threat,” one student tweeted at her campus police department.
